Schedule
10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Simi Valley, CA.
To honor the men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library will be hosting its annual Veterans Day Event on Monday, November 11. The day’s activities include live musical entertainment, a civil war encampment, a military vehicle display and a program honoring all branches of our military.
The program, which begins at 11:00 a.m., includes an honor guard, live music, and a program featuring keynote speaker United States Marine Chief Warrant Officer-4 Randy Gaddo (Ret.). In 1983, Randy Gaddo was in Beirut, Lebanon with the 24th Marine Amphibious Unit, as part of a multination peacekeeping force. He was there in October 1983 when terrorists drove a truck bomb into the U.S. barracks, killing 240 U.S. Servicemen. Being one of the lucky ones to not be hurt, he was part of crew who helped look for survivors, clean up the bomb site, and retrieve the bodies of those who lost their lives.
Outdoor events and the program are free to attend; however, reservations are recommended to attend the program.
