President Reagan spends some time taping television commercials for various Republican candidates running for the House and Senate.
A late morning. Don R. came in with 1st poll results.
Phone calls by 11:30 A.M. had totaled 5004 with percentage of positive 79.04%.
Then a meeting with Congressional leadership. I was applauded when I walked in—then however, Tip & Jim Wright made some negative noises.
A short lunch then a meeting with T.V. anchors & top columnists did some Q&A. Same routine to our top appointees over at E.O.B. Taped some T.V. commercials for Sen. & Cong. candidates. At 7:30 a dinner for Prince Rainier & his daughters here in the family quarters. It was a nice party & everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Michael Feinstein entertained at the piano & singing.
