It was gray & rainy all day until we landed at Woodlawn in Marine 1 for Nancy’s Birthday party. We’d spent much of the day in the new gym learning about the new exercise routine & sneaking fearful looks at the rainy day outside. Then as we landed—the sun came out, the clouds blew away & the weather was wonderful right through the evening & the fireworks back here at the W.H. It was so heartwarming for us to be once again with all our old Calif. friends. There are many years to the tradition of the Nancy B.D. party. Betty Wilson started it at their Santa Barbara ranch. This time she & Marion Jorgensen put it on.
