Chancellor Schmidt arrived. We had a state ceremony on the S. Lawn with a 19 gun salute & all. He & I visited for more than an hour. Didn’t really get down to specifics as quickly as with Suzuki. Maybe in tomorrows meeting. Must realize however the meeting is in truth a show of friendship.
