Our Mission

The Ronald Reagan Institute (RRI) promotes our 40th President’s ideals, vision, and leadership example through substantive, issue-driven forums, academic and young professional programming, and scholarly work.

The Reagan Institute is the Washington, DC arm of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, headquartered in Simi Valley, CA. RRI is the first of any Presidential Library operating in our nation’s capital and, as such, RRI moves beyond the preservation of President Reagan’s legacy and proactively promotes the 40th President’s vision, principles, and leadership example.

American Opportunity Fellowship (AOF)

The American Opportunity Fellowship (AOF) is an intensive semester-long program for 25 advanced undergraduate students, early graduate students, and recent graduates to learn about the economic policymaking process and explore current ideas and debates in applied political economy. AOF combines rigorous classroom instruction, intentional networking, sustained mentorship, and practical application to cultivate a durable community of students and recent graduates committed to growth, innovation, and opportunity–a Reaganomics for the twenty-first century.

National Defense Fellowship

The National Defense Fellowship is an intensive program run in partnership between the Alexander Hamilton Society and the Ronald Reagan Institute. The program aims to educate about 20 advanced undergraduate and graduate students in the vocabulary, theory, practice, and organization of U.S. defense policy. The fellowship has two primary components, participation in the Peace Through Strength Boot Camp and attendance at the annual Reagan National Defense Forum.

Program On The National Security Innovation Base

The Ronald Reagan Institute’s program on the National Security Innovation Base is a project by the Center for Peace Through Strength dedicated to assessing the health of the national security-innovation ecosystem. The foundation for the program is the Institute’s 2019 Task Force on 21st-Century National Security Technology and Workforce, which was an ambitious project designed to help the United States achieve long-lasting competitive advantage in technology and innovation.
