Edward Kunz

Edward Kunz is a postdoctoral fellow with the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute. He previously completed his PhD at the Ohio State University where he worked with professors Joseph R. Parrott, Peter L. Hahn, and Ori Yehudai. His broad interests include the role of power and diplomacy in the relationship between Israel and the United States.

Edward’s current focus is on the continuities and disruptions in the diplomatic relationship between Israel and the United States during the Carter and Reagan presidencies. His book project, Beirut in the Crosshairs: Carter, Reagan, Israel, and the Lebanon Conflict, 1977 - 1984, places an emphasis on the roles of the Lebanese Civil War and the 1982 Lebanon War in formulating presidential policy toward the Arab – Israeli conflict. Edward’s work interfaces with a variety of historical disciplines including diplomatic history, military history, Jewish history, and Cold War history.
