President Reagan once said, “…even a tortured past holds promise if we learn its lessons…. it is up to us to ensure that we never live it again.” Join the Education Team at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute as David Lenga shares his compelling and traumatic story as a German Jew during the darkest days of the Third Reich. Come hear the captivating story of a survivor who faced the realities of life in concentration camps and help keep the memory of those lost to Nazi tyranny alive. David remained in the Lodz Ghetto until it was liquidated in 1944. He was then sent to Auschwitz, before he was moved to a labor camp in Bavaria. Along with a handful of other prisoners, David escaped and hid throughout southern Germany until they were liberated by American troops in May 1945.

This event is free for school groups to attend, and one adult chaperone is invited per group of 15 students. Registration includes complimentary admission to the museum only. The registration table will open at 10:00 a.m. for school groups on the day of the event. Following the event, students can have lunch (provided they are brought in brown bags by the school) under Air Force One and tour the museum.

There are a limited number of event tickets available for the public, but those do not come with museum admission. General public check-in will begin at 10:30 a.m.
