Faith & Public Policy Forum with Pepperdine University Featuring Natan Sharansky

In partnership with the Reagan Foundation’s Centennial Celebration, Pepperdine University’s School of Public Policy presented a lecture on Faith and Ronald Reagan featuring Natan Sharansky, on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, in the Presidential Learning Center at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Sharansky is a Soviet dissident and former prisoner who has credited Ronald Reagan’s faith, moral clarity, and courage in the freedom of Russian immigrants to flee to Israel. Sharansky served three years in prison and five years of strict-forced labor in East Siberia. In 1986 he became the first political prisoner ever released by Mikhail Gorbachev, thanks to intense political pressure from Ronald Reagan. Sharansky is the author of Fear No Evil, memoirs of his time as a prisoner.
