Restoring Civility: New Survey Reveals Americans' Desire for Civil Discourse & Common Ground

The Center on Civility and Democracy (CCD) commissioned a survey to examine the current state of democracy and civility in our nation. This survey was commissioned to help inform and promote CCD’s core pillars of promoting civil discourse, finding common ground and encouraging informed patriotism.
The survey revealed that the majority of Americans believe civility is struggling, but are interested in finding common ground. And, despite a charged political climate, the vast majority of Americans (72%) desire to be a part of the solution in restoring civility to our country.
