Job Description
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation is hiring a part-time Visitor Services Associates Supervisor to work in the main lobby of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. This Supervisor will be expected to perform the following duties and any other duties as assigned or requested:
Supervisory
Assisting with coordination of team members’ schedules as needed;
Fostering a team environment among the floor sales staff with the focus on customer service and sales;
Leading by example in all aspects of sales duties, customer service, attitude, proper behavior, outreach to and communication with fellow team members;
Opening and closing the lobby desk on time daily and, working with other lobby team members, accommodating for early tours and/or special groups;
Coordinating break schedules to ensure appropriate desk coverage is maintained at all times;
Resolving customer complaints and forwarding unresolved complaints to the Visitor Services Director;
Coordinating group bus arrivals/assignments with Associates;
Coordinating with Membership Ambassadors to support membership sales;
Assisting in effectively appraising and identifying training needs for our Visitor Services Associates, including participating in Associate training to enhance the team’s ability to exceed our customer service and museum/program knowledge standards; and,
Ensuring the desk brochures, stickers and audio tour equipment levels are consistently replenished.
Communications
Communicating directions or procedural changes from the Visitor Services Director and answering questions for the staff regarding lobby/Visitor Services operations, pricing, events and special promotions so that communications and staff awareness are consistent all seven days of the week;
Communicating personnel-related issues to the Visitor Services Director
Sales
Transaction of ticket sales and other customer service duties while simultaneously supervising team members;
Responsible for the opening/closing of cash drawers, reconciliation and verification of receipts, cash and deposits, and preparation of daily sales reports;
Maintain ticketing area/lobby desk in a safe, clean, and orderly fashion.
Candidate Requirements
The Supervisor is expected to provide the highest level of guest service to preserve and perpetuate the image and values of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute as well as the Reagan Library and Museum. As such, the following elements will contribute to the ideal candidate:
Must be 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be able to work and support colleagues in a close-knit and group environment.
Must have the ability and willingness to learn – and stay updated – on the Reagan Library exhibits, Library operations, and Foundation projects and programs.
Basic math and computer skills are required as well as proficiency in Point-Of-Sale system functions to ensure efficient and accurate cash register operations.
Must be comfortable with hand-held technology as you will sell and distribute audio tour equipment to Museum visitors of all ages.
Must be able to work alternating weekends if needed.
The person hired for this position must be a self-starter, have strong interpersonal skills, excellent communications skills, and the ability to multitask and work in a team environment.
The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual and well organized.
The candidate must be courteous and possess a positive attitude and must lead by example in productivity for the group.
Retail experience and/or museum customer service, including supervisory experience, is preferred.
The candidate must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and the job may entail sitting or walking with occasional bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and the lifting and occasional carrying of printed material and/or equipment weighing 5 to 30 pounds.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Work is performed in an adequately ventilated and lighted museum admissions public area and/or in an office/administrative support area. Salary/Benefits/Location
This is a non-exempt part-time position, approximately 15-28 hours per week, including weekend days when needed (usually four per month).
Benefits include the opportunity to participate in a retirement program, as well as Paid Time Off (PTO) based on hours accrued per pay period and years of service
This position will be compensated at $18.00-$20.00 per hour basis based on salary history and experience, and will also be eligible for sales-based commissions and overtime
