The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute (RRPFI) is the sole nonprofit organization created by President Reagan charged with advancing his legacy and principles – individual liberty, economic opportunity, freedom and democracy, peace through strength, and national pride.

With views all the way to the Pacific Ocean and an hour from Los Angeles International Airport, RRPFI’s Simi Valley campus sits on 400 acres atop a hill, serves as the final resting place of America’s 40th President and former First Lady Nancy Reagan, displays a chunk of the Berlin Wall, and houses (among other remarkable displayed hardware) the plane President Reagan flew on as Air Force One to 26 countries. Also onsite are the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, the Air Force One Pavilion, and the Reagan Leadership Center.
Job Opportunity
The RRPFI is currently seeking a Part-Time Staff Assistant to provide comprehensive office support to our Senior Staff and Foundation Office, located on-site in Simi Valley, CA.
Responsibilities
Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
Greet and assist visitors and clients.
Perform basic office tasks such as photocopying, faxing, filing, and mailings.
Handle phone inquiries and provide information as needed.
Provide general administrative and clerical support to Senior Staff, as well as other Departments within the Foundation.
Assist with incoming and outgoing mail, including UPS and FedEx shipments.
Use SalesForce to take reservations and research information.
Run errands to drop off/pick up materials, mail, etc.
Assist with special projects, including (but not limited to): internet research, marketing calls, and Excel spreadsheet creation/maintenance.
Opportunity to participate as a team member in Foundation events, which may occur in the evenings, on weekends, and holidays.
Research, plan, and book complete travel arrangements.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma (or equivalent) required.
The successful candidate must be passionate about President Ronald Reagan’s legacy and principles.
Previous office experience is required.
Confidentiality and discretion required.
Excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; knowledge of Salesforce is a plus (Training will be provided.)
Ability to work flexible hours for special events, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays. This includes the last week of November/first week of December for our annual Reagan National Defense Forum.
Familiarity with standard office equipment and administrative procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational skills with great attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective time management and ability to adapt to changing priorities quickly.
Customer service-oriented mindset.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Initiative, integrity, a sense of humor, and stress tolerance are essential.
Salary and Benefits
This is a non-exempt regular part-time position based in Simi Valley, California.
Compensation is $18.00 per hour with eligibility for overtime.
Paid Time Off (PTO) benefits based on hours accrued per pay period and years of service.\
