The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute (RRPFI) is the sole nonprofit organization created by President Reagan charged with advancing his legacy and principles – individual liberty, economic opportunity, freedom and democracy, peace through strength, and national pride.
A globally recognized nonpartisan organization based in Simi Valley, CA, with a leading policy institute in Washington, DC, RRPFI delivers impactful public affairs programming, policy convenings and projects of national and international significance, scholarly initiatives, and distinctive educational programming shaping the perspectives of middle, high school, and college students.
In addition, RRPFI sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, the largest and most visited presidential library. With views all the way to the Pacific Ocean and an hour from Los Angeles International Airport, RRPFI’s Simi Valley campus sits on 400 acres atop a hill, serves as the final resting place of America’s 40th President and former First Lady Nancy Reagan, displays a chunk of the Berlin Wall, and houses (among other remarkable displayed hardware) the plane President Reagan flew on as Air Force One to 26 countries. Also onsite are the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, the Air Force One Pavilion, and the Reagan Leadership Center.
Overview
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute (RRPFI) seeks a strategic, detail-oriented, and collaborative leader to serve as the Director of Advancement Data and Research. This role powers RRPFI’s fundraising engine by ensuring excellence in data management, prospect identification and prioritization, and donor research, while providing targeted support to digital fundraising programs, especially email and paid media focused on acquisition.
Reporting to the Director of Advancement Services, the Director is the primary owner of the advancement (fundraising) CRM, builds actionable dashboards and KPIs, and delivers concise research and briefings that match the right prospects to the right fundraisers at the right time. The Director partners with internal teams and trusted vendors to drive list growth, segmentation, testing, and attribution, translating digital performance into qualified leads and upgrade paths across the pipeline.
The ideal candidate balances strategic oversight with hands-on execution, brings strong analytical and project management skills, and has a service mindset that supports colleagues, leadership, donors, and partners. This position is central to achieving ambitious growth by converting data into insight, insight into action, and action into philanthropic results that advance President Reagan’s legacy and principles.
Responsibilities
Data and Systems Management
Serve as the primary owner and administrator of the advancement (fundraising) portion of Salesforce and related tools in close coordination and conjunction with the Information Technology (IT) department.
Ensure data integrity, consistency, compliance, and security across constituent and gift records.
Build and maintain reports and dashboards for leadership, gift officers, and campaign tracking.
Oversee data hygiene, deduplication, record updates, and list generation for appeals, events, and campaigns.
Partner with IT and vendors to evaluate and collaborate to optimize integrations and system performance.
Prospect Identification, Research, and Prioritization
Lead prospect research using wealth screening tools, public giving and philanthropic data, public records, and subscription resources.
Proactively surface high-capacity, mission-aligned prospects and prioritize them based on capacity, affinity, and propensity.
Produce concise profiles, briefings, and capacity analyses for leadership travel and gift officer meetings.
Monitor lead sources, including event and museum attendees, program participants, newsletter subscribers, and digital sign-ups.
Portfolio Strategy and Analytics
Manage portfolio assignments with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and gift officers to ensure balanced, high-quality portfolios.
Track pipeline movement, activity levels, and conversion metrics; recommend actions to improve velocity and ROI.
Develop and refine performance KPIs and accountability frameworks for frontline fundraisers.
Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities; provide regular insights to inform strategy and forecasting.
Digital Fundraising Support: Email and Paid Media Acquisition
Partner with Annual Giving, Membership, IT, and external vendors to build data-driven audience targets for email and paid media acquisition.
Support segmentation, A/B testing, creative and message testing, and landing page optimization.
Provide list strategy, file health monitoring, and attribution reporting across channels.
Translate digital performance into actionable next steps for cultivation and upgrades.
Cross-Team Collaboration and Strategic Support
Align data strategy with annual giving, membership, stewardship, and major gift priorities.
Coordinate with Communications, Events, Membership, Visitor Services, IT, and Finance to ensure accurate reporting and excellent donor experience.
Support campaign planning by sizing prospect pools and building dashboards for leadership and board reporting.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through curiosity, careful experimentation, and data-informed decision making.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in prospect research, CRM management, digital fundraising analytics, or related roles.
Strong command of CRM systems, ideally Salesforce, and ability to build reports, queries, and dashboards.
Proficiency with wealth screening and research tools such as WealthEngine, Wealth-X, iWave, DonorSearch, or similar research tools.
Familiarity with email and paid media acquisition tactics, list growth strategies, testing methodologies, and basic attribution models.
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and recommendations.
Excellent organization, attention to detail, and project management skills; able to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; collaborative approach; discretion with confidential information.

Bachelor’s degree required, certifications or continuing education in data analytics, digital marketing, or fundraising operations a plus.
Work Location, Compensation, and Benefits
This is an exempt full-time position and can work remotely from anywhere in the United States.
