Wash. in the A.M. & beddy bye in Calif. We’re off for our traditional visit to the Annenbergs for New Years. Tonite we’ll dine with Ron & Doria at the Century Plaza. Received word this A.M. the Soviets have said “no” to an exchange of T.V. new years greetings. I was to have taped a New Years greeting to the Soviet people & Gorbachev would have done the same for Americans. They’ve said “Nyet.”
I’m wrong about Ron & Doria—that’s tomorrow nite.
