View the President's Schedule

Met with party leaders—picture taking session then off to Kick off rally at the park. I should say here—forgot to mention yesterday about 2,000 mainly Marine Corps familys at El Toro base were waiting when plane arrived. It was a most heartwarming welcome. Now back to Monday. There were 50,000 at the actual park site & about 15,000 more just beyond who couldn’t get in. It was unbelievable to see that many people massed there—standing in the hot sun. It was quite a kickoff.

Then to the airport & on to DeAnza C.C. in Santa Clara county & here there were 40,000 people on the campus. Again the greeting was overwhelming.

Back to the Air base (Moffett Field) and here Nancy left me to continue her schedule in L.A. & Oregon etc. mainly on the Drug problem. I flew out to Salt Lake Ciy where tomorrow I address the Am. Legion Convention.
