Worked on speech. About 30 R. Congressmen & women plus our own staff came up for lunch meeting on tax bill which came out of conference committee at about 2 A.M. Think it was good meeting & some progress made. Back to the speech. Talked to Nancy. She’s very low—thinks the end may come in next few days. How I wish I could be with her & help her. Back to W.H.
