Day started with usual staff meetings—then back to meetings with Congressmen. Did drop by editors of Senior Citizen press. I was amazed to see how many publications are devoted to them. Most editors if not all were obviously not Senior Citizens however. After lunch addressed meeting of Am. Retail Federation. Met with G. Shultz on a number of issues—one the possibility that a massacre took place near Sidon in Lebanon [. . .] Upstairs to continue phoning Congressmen re the MX. The debate is going on. After dinner a drop by at the White House News photographers Dinner.
