The big part of the morning was a meeting with the task force on Soc. Security. I believe they’ve come up with a plan to resolve the long term imbalance and without reducing any of the benefits for present recipients. Late afternoon a reception in the East Room for all the House members (Demo. & Repub.) who voted for the budget cuts. I dont think such a meeting has ever been held in the W.H. before. Maybe we are putting together a long term coalition.
