Off to N.Y. for Bill Caseys funeral. Lv. W.H. at 11:40 A.M. Lunch on plane—arrived at JFK at 12:55. Had to fly out of Dulles because the Thunder Birds are staging an air show at Andrews A.F.B. Helicoptered to Roslyn Harbor Long Island. Service at St. Marys Catholic Church. Service was delayed as Bishop had prior service with a group of new Priests. But everything went well—Bishop called attention to what he said was Bills inability to understand it was wrong to help the Contras. Jeanne Kirkpatrick took care of that in her Eulogy & got a big hand. First time I’ve ever heard at a funeral. Back to the White House.
