An N.S.P.G. meeting re our contingency plans for such things as Iran trying to close straits of Hormuz etc. We should have plans for any possibility so that an order could be given for a plan A–B etc. A very pleasant lunch with Commission on Womens Business Ownership. About 12 ladies—3 gentlemen who reported to me on their progress. Mel & Mrs. Blanc (Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck etc.) came by. Bud & George S.—we discussed our Russian situation some more. Then about 30 labor union officials from N.Y., N.J., & other N.E. states—reps. of a number of AFL-CIO unions, came by to tell me they were supporting me for re-election. Off to Camp David—where we discovered 6 inches of new snow fall.
