Met with Special Olympians on way to Special Olympics in Salt Lake. Don Regan, Cap, George S., Dave S. & a few Sens. worked out a compromise on our budget differences that seems practical. We’d settle for real defense increase of 3% each yr. for the next 3 & restore our original cuts in domestic spending. Then the 100th Gridiron dinner, as usual a 5 hour affair but very entertaining.
