Off to Waterloo & Des Moines. This trip was an adrenalin shot. Waterloo had 6000 & a turnaway of hundreds. They were on their feet cheering about every other line. Then on to Des Moines where there were 7000 in the sports arena equally as enthusiastic. Before talking to them H. R. Gross (former congressman) & his wife & I went to WHO where he had been news caster (before Cong.) & I’d been sports announcer. We did an interview on Radio—covered by T.V. which was pure nostalgia. Then on to the arena. It was a block buster. Then A.F.1 back to Wash.
