Radio broadcast—then taped a segment for an NBC special answering questions from 7 children, ages 10 to 12 who have written questions to me. Spent much of afternoon putting together Alfalfa Club Speech. Now the dinner is over & I’m home—speech was very successful. George B. leaves tomorrow for Europe. His trip can be very important for our disarmament talks. At dinner Don Regan said he’d done a lot of circulating among the top business types there—all believe the recovery has begun.
