The Former President of Poland and Leader of the Solidarity Movement Will Deliver Remarks at the Reagan Institute.
WASHINGTON D.C. – Former President of Poland and Solidarity leader Lech Wałęsa will deliver remarks on Thursday, February 5, at the Ronald Reagan Institute in Washington, D.C., followed by a moderated conversation with Reagan Institute Policy Director Rachel Hoff.
The discussion will examine America’s commitment to supporting freedom and democracy as both a moral imperative and a strategic necessity. Against a backdrop of renewed authoritarian aggression, the conversation will explore how shared democratic values continue to shape transatlantic cooperation.
Hosted by the Reagan Institute’s Center for Freedom and Democracy, the event is part of its new “Westminster Dialogues” series, which convenes global leaders to discuss the challenges facing free societies and the enduring necessity of principled American leadership. The series draws inspiration from President Reagan’s 1982 address to the British Parliament at Westminster, which outlined his vision for a global campaign for freedom and democracy.
Journalists wishing to cover in-person may request credentials here. The event will also be livestreamed on the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute YouTube and Rumble channels.
