Senator Todd Young and Congressman Adam Smith to Speak at the Ronald Reagan Institute’s Second Annual National Security Innovation Base Summit
The Summit will also feature the Institute’s newest NSIB Report Card assessing the U.S. innovation ecosystem
WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Todd Young (R-IN) and Congressman Adam Smith (D-WA) will participate in a bipartisan fireside chat at the second annual National Security Innovation Base (NSIB) Summit, hosted by the Ronald Reagan Institute’s Center for Peace Through Strength, on March 20, 2024.
Senator Todd Young (R-IN) serves on the Senate Committees on Foreign Relations; Commerce, Science, and Transportation; Small Business and Entrepreneurship; and Finance. Senator Young has played a leading role in protecting U.S. technological competitiveness by co-authoring the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act.
Congressman Adam Smith (D-WA) is the Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee. He is a leader on the National Defense Authorization Act, which sets policy for the Department of Defense and the U.S. Armed Forces. Ranking Member Smith has been a champion of acquisition reform and the integration of innovative technology into U.S. warfighting systems.
The NSIB Summit will feature in-person panels and discussions with Members of Congress, executive branch officials, innovative industry and technology companies, investors, national security experts, and other thought leaders.
At the Summit, the Reagan Institute will also release its second NSIB Report Card, which evaluates the health, effectiveness, and resilience of the national security innovation ecosystem. In 2023, this first-of-its-kind assessment delivered harsh grades, particularly when it came to U.S. government customer clarity and the failure to provide stable, sufficient funding to acquire and scale critical technology solutions.
