On Thursday, February 10, 2011, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library was the only place in the nation where you can purchase the just released Ronald Reagan Centennial Postage Stamp and receive a “First Day Issue” cancellation stamp.
Events that day include:
- The sale of the centennial postage stamp from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Musical performance by the United States Air Force Band from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Morning program from 10:30 a.m. -11:00 a.m. which includes remarks by former California Governor Pete Wilson and United States Postal Service Board of Governors James Miller.
- Sales of stamp merchandise including caches, coffee mugs and much more.
Stamp This newly designated “Forever Stamp” honors President Reagan by celebrating the 100th anniversary of his birth. As United States Postal Service Board of Governors James C. Miller III said during the December 13, 2010 stamp unveiling, the stamp also “honors Reagan’s America – that “shining city on a hill,” that indefatigable spirit that no task is too much for us Americans, that sunny-faced optimism that has led us through the centuries.”
