November 9, 2009 marked the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. In commemoration of this historic event, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library invited students and visitors to paint their inspirational messages on its thirty-two foot replica of the Berlin Wall over a three week-period. On November 9th, a group of fifth grade students from Wood Ranch Elementary School participated in a ceremony to tear down the wall. The program included remarks by First Lt. Amy Treese who in 1978, escorted Governor Reagan through Checkpoint Charlie during his first trip to Berlin.
