Reagan Forum featuring Louisiana Governor and Vice Chairman of the Republican Governors Association Bobby Jindal.
Governor Jindal was elected Governor of Louisiana on October 20, 2007, winning 60 of 64 parishes in the state. As Governor, Jindal has taken on the tough issues and turned Louisiana into a model for conservative reform. Governor Jindal overhauled ethics laws, eliminated burdensome taxes, and led historic responses to Hurricane Ike, Hurricane Gustav, and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Governor Jindal also tackled education reform by expanding charter schools and implementing school choice scholarships to give more children the opportunity to get a great education. Governor Jindal’s reforms have led to all-time high employment levels, and record level high school graduation rates in Louisiana. Prior to being elected Governor, Governor Jindal served as a Congressman, Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, President of the University of Louisiana System, Executive Director of the National Bipartisan Commission on the Future of Medicare, and Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.
