New York Times Best Selling Author and NBC News Special Correspondent Tom Brokaw was at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Saturday, April 14th to discuss and sign copies of his latest book*, The Time of our Lives: A Conversation About America.
In his book, Tom Brokaw turns his attention to the challenges that face America in the new millennium, and offers reflections on how we can restore America’s greatness. Rooted in the values, lessons, and verities of generations past and of his South Dakota upbringing, Brokaw weaves together inspiring stories of Americans who are making a difference and personal stories from his own family history, to engage us in a conversation about our country and to offer ideas for how we can revitalize the promise of the American Dream.
Tom Brokaw has spent his entire distinguished journalism career with NBC News beginning in 1966 in the Los Angeles bureau where he covered Ronald Reagan’s first run for public office. He anchored NBC Nightly News and the TODAY Show, and then became anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw. He most recently took over Meet the Press for the 2008 campaign when his close friend and colleague Tim Russert died.
In 1998 Brokaw published his first book, THE GREATEST GENERATION, one of the most popular nonfiction books of the 20th century. He followed that with five other books, including BOOM! VOICES OF THE SIXTIES and, most recently, THE TIME OF OUR LIVES.
