Virtual Conversation with Dr. Jamel Wright
Please join us virtually on Friday, September 4, as we have a conversation with Dr. Jamel Wright, the current president of Eureka College, President Reagan’s alma mater. During the virtual conversation, Dr. Wright will discuss President Reagan’s formative years at Eureka, President Reagan’s early advocacy for racial equality, and the challenges posed by COVID-19 to higher education. This event will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel (YouTube.com/ReaganFoundation).
Dr. Jamel Wright, the 27th President of Eureka College, is the first woman and African American to lead the 165-year-old institution. Before becoming President in 2017, Dr. Wright served as the Vice President of Strategic & Diversity Initiatives. She led the effort to update the College’s strategic plan, enhance communications, overhaul the Title IX policy and processes on sexual discrimination, work collaboratively with human resources to examine and refine hiring practices, establish strategic community partnerships, and attract renowned speakers like John Carlos from the 1968 Olympics to the campus.
