Ronald Reagan Civil Discourse Project
About
The Civil Discourse Project was founded to develop engaged, informed, and skilled 5th-12th graders who model civil discourse as a hallmark of American democracy. We support students who can effectively use logic, evidence, and personality to communicate their ideas and respectfully persuade others, just as Ronald Reagan did throughout his life, through three competitive opportunities.

Ronald Reagan Debate Series
The Ronald Reagan Debate Series, formerly known as the Great Communicator Debate Series, challenges students in grades 9-12, emulates the style of presidential debates of old, emphasizing practical communication skills like civility, personality, humor and story telling.
Regional topic and competition locations are now available for March-June 2026.

National Civics Bee
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is hosting the California and D.C. statewide civics competitions. The 2025-26 National Civics Bee® encourages young Americans in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.
