The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute Announces Partnership with NCF for the Great American Leadership Program
(Simi Valley, CA) The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with New College of Florida to launch the Great American Leadership Program: Florida Leadership Summit, a transformative experience for current 10th-11th grade high school students. With the tagline Inspiring Tomorrow’s Leaders Today, this hands-on program is designed to equip the next generation of leaders with the skills, confidence, and values needed to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.
The program will offer high school students the unique opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills and explore the enduring values of freedom and leadership that defined President Ronald Reagan’s legacy. The Governor and Cabinet along with each member of the Florida House of Representatives and Senate have the honor of selecting high school students from within the state and their districts to participate in this prestigious program.
Dr. Richard Schroeder, Chief Education Programming Officer at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, emphasized the program’s mission: “President Reagan believed in the power of young people to shape the future. This program is a testament to his vision, providing students with the tools, inspiration, and confidence to lead with integrity and purpose.”
Participants in the Great American Leadership Program will engage in small-group discussions with influential leaders, participate in real-world leadership challenges, and test their decision-making skills in the award-winning crisis simulation, Operation Urgent Fury. The program also fosters lifelong connections among like-minded peers who share a passion for leadership and American values.
“It is an honor for New College of Florida to host the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute’s Great American Leadership Program: Florida Leadership Summit,” said Richard Corcoran, President of New College of Florida. “President Reagan understood that liberty depends on leaders who are grounded in principle, capable of civil discourse, and willing to shoulder responsibility for the future of our republic. This summit reflects a shared commitment to forming young leaders who think critically, engage respectfully, and lead with courage and conviction. We are proud of this partnership to ensure that the next generation of Floridians are prepared not only to inherit freedom, but to preserve it.”
The Great American Leadership Program is more than an educational opportunity—it is a call to action for young leaders to step into their potential and make a meaningful impact on their communities and beyond.
