Reagan Library to Host Educational Event with Local Holocaust Survivor David Lenga

Lenga, 95, will share his story of survival with more than 1,000 students in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day

SIMI VALLEY, CA – The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute will host more than 1,000 Los Angeles-area students for an educational event to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day on April 17. The students, accompanied by their teachers, will hear remarks from 95-year-old David Lenga, who survived the Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp 80 years ago.

The students and teachers will also receive a complimentary tour of the world-renowned exhibition, Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away, which opened to the public at The Reagan Library last month. The exhibition features over 700 original artifacts, providing an authentic and powerful look into one of the darkest periods of human history.

With more than 1,000 students already registered, this event will be a moving and inspiring experience for all who attend. Students will have the opportunity to learn from one of the few remaining survivors of the Holocaust who bore witness to the atrocities that were committed during this horrific chapter in our history.

With the rise of antisemitism in the United States today, Holocaust Remembrance Day is an especially important call to never forget the horrors of what can happen when hate is unchecked. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) released data last month revealing 3,697 incidents of antisemitic harassment, vandalism, and assault in the U.S. in 2022, the highest number on record since the ADL began tracking these incidents in 1979.

All media interested in attending must RSVP to reagan@pinkston.co. To learn more about this event, visit reaganfoundation.org/events.
