Reagan Foundation’s Center on Civility and Democracy Receives Record Demand for The Civility Handbook, Distributing Over 10,000 Copies

New milestone underscores growing public demand for respect and civility across political and ideological differences

SIMI VALLEY, CA – The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute’s Center on Civility and Democracy (CCD) today announced that it has distributed more than 10,000 copies of The Civility Handbook in its first week of publication, making it one of the highest-requested items offered in the Library’s museum store. Additionally, many community organizations, such as Rotary Clubs, and teachers have reached out to obtain bulk copies for their groups and classrooms.

The Civility Handbook, a free guide, offers practical advice for navigating conversations and disagreements with respect. Organized around core principles, from humility and curiosity to productive disagreement, each chapter pairs an inspiring example from American history with actionable strategies that individuals, families, educators, workplaces, and communities can apply in everyday life.

"This incredible response underscores the desire to restore civility in our country and shows that Americans value the ability to disagree with respect," said Fred Ryan, Director of the Center on Civility and Democracy. "We're encouraged to see individuals and organizations embracing this handbook as a resource for fostering more constructive conversations and strengthening civil discourse in their homes, schools, workplaces and communities."

Free copies of The Civility Handbook can be obtained at civilityhandbook.com, or at in-person events. The handbook is also available through digital download. For more information, partnership opportunities or collaboration ideas, please reach out to CCD at apappas@reaganfoundation.org.
