Cardinal Timothy Dolan Joins Reagan Foundation and Institute Board of Trustees

Simi Valley, California – The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute announced today that Cardinal Timothy Dolan will join the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. As a member of the organization’s Board, Cardinal Dolan will help lead the Reagan Foundation in advancing the legacy of Ronald Reagan and the principles he championed – individual liberty, economic opportunity, freedom and democracy, peace through strength, and national pride.

“We are honored to welcome Cardinal Dolan to the Reagan Foundation’s Board of Trustees,” said Foundation Board Chairman Frederick J. Ryan, Jr. “President Reagan often spoke proudly of his Irish heritage, and Cardinal Dolan shares not only that heritage, but also President Reagan’s optimism, moral clarity, and deep faith. He embodies the values of faith, freedom, opportunity, and leadership that President Reagan championed throughout his life.”

His Eminence, Cardinal Timothy Dolan is Archbishop Emeritus of New York. One of the nation's most prominent religious leaders, Cardinal Dolan served as Archbishop of New York from 2009 to 2026 and was elevated to the College of Cardinals by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012. He previously served as Archbishop of Milwaukee and as Rector of the Pontifical North American College in Rome. He also served as President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and has been widely recognized for his leadership, scholarship, and commitment to public service. Through his ministry, writing, and public engagements, Cardinal Dolan has been a leading voice on faith, religious liberty, education, and the dignity of all people – values that President Reagan frequently cited as essential to America's strength and character.

“President Reagan understood that freedom flourishes when it is rooted in faith, family, and personal responsibility. He recognized the vital role that faith plays in shaping character, strengthening communities, and sustaining hope,” said Cardinal Dolan. “I am honored to join the Reagan Foundation’s Board of Trustees and help promote and advance the values and principles that guided his remarkable life.”
