A bit of history can be yours! Our exclusive, full-leaded crystal jelly bean jar is etched with the official seal of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. 5" tall and 3 3/5" in diameter. Gift boxed just like the ones given at the White House. (Jelly beans not included). Why presidential jelly beans, you ask? When Ronald Reagan was Governor of California in 1966, he began eating jelly beans as part of his attempt to give up pipe smoking. A monthly shipment to the Governor's Office throughout his two terms in Sacramento. And, his 1981 Presidential Inauguration, three and a half tons of red, white, and blue Jelly Belly® jelly beans were shipped to Washington, DC! Then, in February 1981 the Goelitz Candy Company received official Government authorization to develop a Jelly Belly® jelly bean jar with the Presidential Seal on it. These Presidential jars of Jelly Belly® beans, each in its own blue gift box, were given by Reagan to heads of state, diplomats, and many other White House guests.
