Slept in a little late. Lunched in Atrium. Then I had to go down to the Dip. room & greet 27 Mexican congressmen who are here for their annual meeting with our Congress. On the way I stopped at the Dr’s. for my sneeze shot. After that Jim Kuhn came up & said Howard B. had a document he thought Nancy & I should see. We went out in the West Hall & there was our staff with a cake & champaigne singing “Happy Anniversary.” It was very nice.
Then the afternoon settled down to a lot of desk work & catching up.
Colin sent secret memo—our Frigate, U.S.S. John Moore fired on Iranian Speed Boats in Northern Persian Gulf (2). No word as to any hits.
