Valentine’s day. Had a brief on the West Bank. There can be no question but that Israel has a well thought out plan to take over the W.B. Met Jack Kemp & Jerry Lewis who are concerned about the multi nat. bank funds such as I.M.F.—World Bank etc. I think we convinced them there is a need for them if we’re to stave off a financial debacle world wide. Went over to C. of C. & did a closed circuit telecast to a meeting of the Young Presidents Org. in Calif. Spoke & did a Q&A. On way back stopped & bought some valentines. Interview with Alan Ryskind of Human Events. They’ve been jumping on me increasingly maybe this will help them know I’m not betraying the Conservative Cause. N.S.C. meeting about Khadafy & a report that he’s going to send bombers to help a coup in Sudan. Some question as to whether the report is valid. We are providing A.W.A.C.S. to aid Egypt fighters (planes) who will intercept Lybian planes. Dinner tonight at Sen. Hatfields to meet 5 prominent biographers of Presidents T. Roosevelt, W. Wilson, H. Hoover, F.D.R. and others.—It was a most enjoyable evening. Present with their wives were David J. Boorstein, Frank Freidel, Arthur S. Link, Edmund Morris, George H. Nash.
