Fall Admissions

Overview: Leadership and the American Presidency (LTAP) looks for intellectually engaged students who are active in their community and looking to aspire to higher leadership goals.
Criteria: Students wishing to apply must be 18 years of age and must have completed at least one semester of their undergraduate education at an accredited college or university before applying.
Application Components: Applications are completed online and include a statement of purpose, a brief essay on a leadership quote that inspires you, a letter of recommendation from a professor or supervisor, and an official transcript from home college or university.
Timeline: Applications are considered on a rolling basis and the Admissions Committee will notify the applicant of their decision via email and regular mail.

Fall Housing

During the Fall term, students live in Washington Intern Student Housing (WISH) rowhouses in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Apartments are steps away from the Capitol South metro that will conveniently take you to internships and sites in Washington DC.  

Standard housing costs are included in the program’s tuition.

Leadership and the American Presidency offers a unique value not only from the enriching experience students gain through academic programming, but the unique nature of the program also offers fruitful networking and internship experiences.

The cost of the Fall term is approximately $12,995. Many scholarship opportunities are available and encouraged.


The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute offers many generous scholarships to our students. Every student that applies for a scholarship will receive one in some capacity. We want our students to have the most academically, personally, and financially rewarding experience possible! Scholarship consideration is evaluated on an individual basis with the following criteria in mind:

  • Financial Need
  • Academic Merit
  • Leadership Activities
  • Extracurricular Involvement

The scholarship application is a component of the general application. Required materials include:

  • 250 word statement describing your need for a scholarship
  • Federal Student Aid Report (SAR) or Tax Return
  • Financial Aid Award Summary and Grant Scholarship Award Letter (if applicable)
