Please join the Reagan Institute on Tuesday, April 13th at 9:00 – 10:30 am ET for “The Future of Defense Spending: Strategic Choices and Hard Tradeoffs” with Chairman Adam Smith.
This virtual event will feature remarks from Representative Adam Smith, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, and a panel discussion featuring Gen. Hawk Carlisle, USA (Ret.), President & CEO of the National Defense Industrial Association, and Mackenzie Eaglen, Resident Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, moderated by Dr. Thomas Mahnken, President & CEO of the Center for Strategic Budgetary Assessments (CSBA).
Chairman Smith will outline his priorities for the committee, particularly those related to the defense budget. Following his keynote remarks, Chairman Smith will participate in a moderated discussion with Reagan Institute Director Roger Zakheim. For the second half of the event, Dr. Mahnken will moderate a conversation with Chairman Smith, Mackenzie Eaglen, and Gen. Carlisle focused on the findings of the recent CSBA-Reagan Institute report, America’s Strategic Choices: Defense Spending in a Post-COVID-19 World.
