The event will feature remarks from Senator Cotton followed by a conversation with Reagan Institute Director, Roger Zakheim. The forthcoming report offers recommendations for how the United States can decouple key strategic sectors of its economy from China, mitigate the costs of decoupling, and reorganize parts of the federal government to wage the economic long war with China. Tom Cotton is a United States Senator from Arkansas. Senator Cotton's committees include the Judiciary Committee, the Intelligence Committee, the Armed Services Committee, and the Joint Economic Committee. Sen. Cotton previously served nearly five years on active duty in the United States Army as an Infantry Officer, serving in Iraq with the 101st Airborne and in Afghanistan with a Provincial Reconstruction Team. Between his two combat tours, he served with The Old Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. Sen. Cotton’s military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and Ranger Tab.
