Please join the Reagan Institute on Friday, May 6, from 10:00am-12:00pm ET for a virtual event, “Linking Resources to Strategy: A Discussion on the National Defense Strategy and FY23 Budget.”
This event will feature keynote remarks from Dr. Kathleen Hicks, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Defense. Dr. Hicks’s address will focus on the Department’s recently-released unclassified summary of the National Defense Strategy—the guiding doctrine of U.S. defense policy and priorities—as well as the Fiscal Year 2023 budget request. Following her remarks, Dr. Hicks will participate in a moderated conversation with Reagan Institute Director Roger Zakheim. A panel discussion will follow, with insights from The Honorable Michèle Flournoy, Former Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Representative Elaine Luria, U.S. Representative (VA-02), and The Honorable Mac Thornberry, Former Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.
This program is hosted by the Reagan Institute’s Center for Peace Through Strength (CPTS), which promotes U.S. national security policy grounded in President Reagan's philosophy that a strong American military is the best deterrent against aggression and safeguard for peace.
