Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford to Deliver Keynote Address at 4th Annual Reagan National Defense Forum
SIMI VALLEY, California — The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute today announced that Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and former commandant of the Marine Corps, will deliver the lunchtime keynote address at the fourth annual Reagan National Defense Forum (RNDF) on Dec. 3.
“In turbulent times, Gen. Dunford has exhibited the kind of leadership that exemplifies the principle of ‘peace through strength,’” said Frederick J. Ryan Jr., chairman of the board of trustees of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation. "We were honored to welcome Gen. Dunford to the Reagan National Defense Forum in 2014. Given the challenges of the current security environment and changes to the character of war, we are looking forward to hearing from him about maintaining our competitive advantage in the years to come."
Dunford currently serves as the 19th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the nation’s highest-ranking military officer and the principal military advisor to the president, secretary of defense and the National Security Council. He previously served as the 26th commandant of the Marine Corps, the assistant commandant of the Marine Corps and as commander of the International Security Assistance Force and United States Forces-Afghanistan.
The annual Reagan National Defense Forum is North America’s premier gathering for defense and national security experts. Each year, the forum brings together hundreds of leaders and key stakeholders in the defense community — including members of Congress, civilian officials and military leaders from the Defense Department and industry — to address the state of our national defense and threats to our national security.
The 2016 Forum will be held on Dec. 2 and 3 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. For more information, visit www.reaganfoundation.org/defense or follow RNDF on Twitter at @ReaganDefense. Media Contact: Margeaux Appel — firstname.lastname@example.org or 703-722-8930
