Program
This event is ONLY for middle and high school classes and home school groups located in Ventura County, California.
In keeping with the Education Team’s vision of promoting civic engagement, we are pleased to once again partner with the Simi Valley Youth Council to present the annual Youth Town Hall. Ventura County middle and high school students have the opportunity to hear public officials discuss local and statewide civic matters ranging from education to policy-making. To maximize participation, attendees can pose their questions or share their concerns anonymously via social media.
This year’s theme is "Stress! Social and Academic Issues Facing Students." Our esteemed panelists include Michael Hall, Principal of Royal High School, Serena Nguyen, LCSW, Simi Valley Unified School District, and Ashlyn Ro, Undergraduate Student, UCLA and former Chair of the Simi Valley Youth Council.
Simi Valley Youth Council has representatives present from the following schools: Chaminade College Prep, Hillside Middle School, Faith Baptist School, Grace Brethren High School, Royal High School, Santa Susana High School, Simi Valley High School, Sinaloa Middle School, and Valley View Middle School.
The Youth Town Hall is open to local Ventura County middle and high school students as well as one adult chaperone per each group of 15 students. The registration table will open at 9:00 a.m. on the day of the event.
