Please join us for an in-person event with American radio host and television presenter, political commentator, newspaper columnist, author, and lawyer Michael Smerconish for a program entitled, “It’s Time to Change the Channel.” Following the program, Michael will sign copies of his latest book, Clowns to the Left of Me, Jokers to the Right (Publish Date: March 20, 2021). Copies of his book can be pre-purchased through our website’s registration process. To register for the event and/or to pre-purchase a book, please click here.

This is an in-person event and will not be livestreamed.

Michael Smerconish has been a fixture in broadcasting and politics for three decades. One constant on both his SiriusXM and CNN programs has been discussion of America’s political divide.  Never have his views been more timely.  In “It’s Time to Change the Channel,” Michael Smerconish uses autobiographical vignettes, insight and humor to explain what drove the nation into a partisan ditch and how the situation can improve.

Clowns to the Left of Me, Jokers to the Right covers the post-9/11 years, Barack Obama’s ascension, and the rise of Donald Trump. Smerconish describes meeting Ronald Reagan, having dinner with Fidel Castro, barbequing with the band YES in his backyard, spending the same night with Pete Rose and Ted Nugent, drinking champagne from the Stanley Cup, and conducting Bill Cosby’s only pretrial interview. All author proceeds benefit the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center, a Philadelphia- based, private, nonprofit agency that provides behavioral health services to children and their families.

To ensure the health and safety of its event staff and guests, effective September 10, 2021, all those attending events sponsored by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California and at the Reagan Institute in Washington, DC must provide proof of full vaccination status against COVID-19. ‘Fully vaccinated’ means vaccinated at least 14 days after the guest’s second dose in a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series or a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine.

To enter the event, attendees must bring proof of vaccination, either a physical vaccination card, a picture of their vaccination card, or a digital vaccination record, or health care document showing vaccination status, along with photo ID. Children under the age of 12 and unvaccinated persons must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within three days prior to the event they’re attending at the Reagan Library or Reagan Institute. This policy also applies to all speakers and performers associated with the event, as well as all staff. Any attendee who arrives at registration check-in without proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test performed within the past 3 days will not be admitted into the event.
