As part of the programming for our Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away. exhibition, please join us for a virtual event on June 12 – the birthday of Anne Frank – with her stepsister, Eva Schloss. The virtual conversation will cover the legacy of Anne Frank, as well as the promise Eva made to her brother, Heinz, and what she’s doing now to make good on that promise. Please register for the virtual event here. The program can be viewed on our YouTube channel at YouTube.com/ReaganFoundation.

Eva Schloss is an Austrian-English Holocaust survivor, memoirist and stepdaughter of Otto Frank, the father of Margot and diarist Anne Frank. Eva speaks widely of her family's experiences during the Holocaust and is a participant in the USC Shoah Foundation’s Visual History Archive project to record video answers to be used in educational tools.

After speaking publicly for years about Anne Frank, Eva remembered the promise she made to her brother, Heinz, when she was only 15 years old – while on a train to Auschwitz, she promised her brother that if he didn’t survive, she would retrieve and display his paintings and poems. Heinz and their father died; Eva and their mother survived (her mother later married Otto Frank).

During this virtual program, Eva will share how she’s fulfilled this promise, and also share stories about Anne. Don’t miss out on this program!
