Senator Mitch McConnell will be the next speaker in the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute’s A Time for Choosing Speaker Series, a forum for leading voices in the conservative movement to address critical questions facing the future of the Republican Party. Through formal speeches delivered at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California, speakers specifically address fundamental questions, such as “Why are you a Republican?,” “What should the Republican Party stand for?,” and “What are the Republican philosophies we can all agree on?
Mitch McConnell is the United States Senate Republican Leader. He is the longest-serving Senate Leader in American history, elected to lead the conference nine times since 2006, serving as Senate Majority Leader from 2015 to 2021. He also currently serves as a senior member of the Appropriations, Agriculture, and Rules Committees.
McConnell has been praised in numerous media outlets for his consequential Senate leadership. He’s been called “the most important Republican since Ronald Reagan” and “the most conservative leader of either party in the history of the Senate.” A veteran political commentator titled him as the “most effective floor leader in either party I've ever seen.” In 2015 and 2019, TIME Magazine named McConnell one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.
