November 2014 commemorates the 25th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, in partnership with the Consul Generals of the Czech Republic, Hungary and the Republic of Poland, will be hosting an event to discuss why the Wall fell and what its end meant for nations on both sides of the Wall.
The program includes remarks by John O’Sullivan, author of “The President, the Pope, and the Prime Minister: Three Who Changed the World” and the current Director of the Danube Institute in Budapest. Mr. O’Sullivan was also Special Advisor and Speechwriter for Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s. Followed by his remarks, Mr. O’Sullivan moderated a panel discussion with:
- The Honorable Petr Gandalovic, Czech Ambassador to the United States
- The Honorable Ferenc Kumin, Consul General of Hungary in New York
- Mr. Adam Michnik, Polish Dissident, Politician, and Publisher of Gazeta Wyborcza
