Grace founded her school’s Girls Who Code chapter, and served as founder and captain of major, competitive science and math teams. School brought about service efforts through Grace’s service as president of the Interact club. Perhaps most notably, after learning that 1.6 million people lose their lives to violence each year, Grace was energized to use her background and skills in martial arts to change the perceptions of violence prevention. She chose to shape her Girl Scouts Gold Award project to found an organization called Kickin’ Violence, which inspires nonviolence advocacy through martial arts. To date, the organization has impacted 5,000 students and raised thousands of dollars for domestic violence in her community and beyond. From Englewood, Fla., Grace will study at Rice University starting in the fall.
