Lizaremi states that “All of the projects I am involved in have to do with specific causes I have personally seen neglected by our society.” As President of the National Hispanic Honor Society, she has organized local conferences to provide information about college entry exams and scholarship information to the Latino community. She is developing a Spanish Science Program for a local elementary school that includes Chemistry lectures and experiments. She also tutors students of low income backgrounds to help them advance educationally. Another activity important to Lizaremi is her weekly volunteer at a senior center. This, coupled with her experience of seeing some of her relatives experience neurological degenerative diseases, has influenced her decision to major in neuroscience and ultimately open a research center and hospital in her hometown of Acambaro, Mexico. Lizaremi is from Atlanta, GA, and plans to attend Cornell University in the fall.
