While maintaining his sky high GPA, Cole boosted school participation in sports during his tenure as Junior and then Senior Class President by starting a “Support Our Sports” (SOS) club. As a four year Varsity Soccer player, JV Football captain, and CG Toros Club Soccer captain, he noticed, then solved the problem of empty stands at school games by splitting the club into promotion, fundraising and service sectors and devising incentives for students to come to the games. Students could buy school gear, treats, and get body paint, which was a very popular incentive! It worked, and he has now organized a charity 5K to provide sports resources for schoolchildren in Senegal. Future goals for Cole include earning an Economics degree and an Industrial Engineering degree so that he may work for the World Bank and International Monetary Fund and play a part in raising citizens in developing countries out of poverty. Cole hails from Coral Gables, FL and will attend Harvard College in the fall.
